Project LIFESAVER utilizes CARE TRAK Inc.® equipment which includes a transmitter bracelet, batteries and a base unit located at the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, 110 NE 3rd Street in East Wenatchee.
The bracelet is about the size of a large wristwatch and can go around the ankle or wrist. The device emits a continuous radio signal that when activated, local Search and Rescue (SAR) resources can begin the search operation. The device’s tracking range is one-mile on the ground and four-miles from the air. As soon as the caregiver calls 911 to report the missing person, SAR teams and local law enforcement can begin the search.
This equipment is free of charge and is made available to us through a partnership with Aging and Adult Care of Central Washington.
