Employment Information

The Douglas County Civil Service Commission has contracted with Public Safety Testing for the purpose of testing related to the position of Deputy Sheriff. Testing for other employment opportunities is conducted by the Douglas County Civil Service Commission. Public Safety Testing conducts entry-level and lateral pre-employment testing for public safety agencies in Washington, Idaho, and California.

Public Safety Testing accepts on-line applications and administers written and physical agility tests. Test results for applicants testing for a position with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office will be forwarded to the Douglas County Civil Service Commission, who may conduct further testing.

Lateral Opening

The Douglas County Civil Service Commission is now accepting lateral applications for field deputy. To be eligible applicants must have successfully completed the Washington State Law Enforcement Officers Basic Academy and must currently be certified as a peace officer in Washington State.
