Mission Statement

The mission of the Douglas County Treasurer's Office is to provide the highest level of service to the citizens of Douglas County, and to fulfill the responsibilities mandated by the State of Washington.

About the Treasurer

The Treasurer acts as the County bank, and is responsible for the receipt, investment, and disbursement of all funds collected. These include property taxes, real estate excise taxes, state and federal apportionments, and revenue collected by all districts within the County.

Irrigation Districts

In addition, the Douglas County Treasurer is contracted by 5 irrigation districts within the County.

Tax Foreclosures

The Treasurer is also responsible for foreclosing, seizing, and selling property as a result of delinquent property taxes. These actions are authorized and mandated by state law.

Real Estate Excise Tax

The County Treasurer acts as agent for the WA Department of Revenue regarding the collection of Real Estate Excise Tax.
