Are you planning to apply for a building permit? The new 2021 Washington State Building Code will go into effect on March 15, 2024.
Building permit applications submitted and accepted with the required payment prior to March 15 will be reviewed under the current 2018 code. Anything received on March 15 or after will fall within the new 2021 State Building Code.
This code adoption comes after multiple prior delays. For the most up-to-date code adoption information, please refer to the State Building Code Council’s website.
