Douglas County is pleased to announce a Free Disposal Day for residents who own or rent developed property outside of city limits, providing a convenient and free opportunity to dispose of unwanted items and household waste.

This event will take place on Saturday, August 24, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Greater Wenatchee Regional Landfill and is made possible thanks to support and partnership from WM.

Residents are encouraged to use this opportunity to dispose of items that are not collected during regular trash pickups. Accepted items include household waste, furniture, yard waste, and other non-hazardous materials.

“This event offers Douglas County residents a way to dispose of items responsibly and at no cost,” said Becci Piepel, Solid Waste Director. “We hope to reduce illegal dumping and keep our county clean and beautiful.”

Important Information

  • Residents must present proof of residency (such as driver’s license or utility bill showing the property address) to participate.
  • Businesses are not eligible for free disposal on this day.
  • All loads must be covered and secured during transport to prevent littering.
