Construction on the 19th Street and NW Cascade Ave project will resume on Monday, March 3, 2025. Contractors will work along the shoulders of 19th Street NW, which includes constructing retaining walls and relocating utilities. A one-lane closure and the associated detour are expected to begin the week of March 10, and will likely remain in place for the duration of the project, which is anticipated to continue until the end of June.
This road improvement project, led by the City of East Wenatchee, started last August and involves widening the roadways, installing bicycle lanes and sidewalks, and creating a new stormwater facility. Douglas County 19th Street Campus & Trailhead
The Douglas County Law & Justice Building, Public Services Building, and 19th Street NW Trailhead Access will remain open during road construction. Apple Capital Loop Trail users are encouraged to use the 27th Street NW Trailhead or 32nd Place Trailhead to avoid the construction area during this time.
