On March 24, 2026, at approximately 6:22 p.m., Douglas County Deputies were dispatched to a reported weapons violation in the area of SR 173 and Dow Lane in Bridgeport Bar, WA. The complainant reported that approximately 10–15 minutes earlier, shots had been fired at a family member’s vehicle as it traveled along the highway. According to the report, the shots were fired by the passenger of another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction. No injuries or property damage were reported.
Assistance was provided by the Brewster Police Department, Washington State Patrol, Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office, and RiverCom Dispatch. This remains an active investigation, and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
