Douglas County announces the opening of the new Household Moderate Risk Waste Facility (MRWF), Friday, March 20th.
Douglas County is excited to announce the Grand Opening of the Household Moderate Risk Waste Facility on Friday, March 20, 2026. The facility is located at 6114 Batterman Road in East Wenatchee and will provide Douglas County residents with a safe, convenient, and environmentally responsible way to dispose of select household and moderate-risk waste items.
A Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at 1:00 PM to celebrate the opening of the new facility. Community partners and the public are invited to attend. Please note that the facility will not be accepting waste disposal on March 19, as the event is for the ceremony only.
The MRWF is managed by the Douglas County Solid Waste Department, and will officially open for waste disposal services on Friday, March 20th from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
