Results from the 2026 Homeless Point-in-Time (PIT) Count, conducted Jan. 29 across Chelan and Douglas counties, show a decrease in the number of people experiencing homelessness compared to last year.
Outreach teams surveyed 93 unsheltered individuals, down from 104 in 2025, a decrease of about 10.5 percent. Organizers noted fewer people chose to participate in the survey this year, which may have been influenced by a change in the event location.
