Civil Service Commission

To be exact, individuals are applying for a position with the Sheriff’s Office, but they apply through the Civil Service Commission. The Civil Service Commission operates as an independent organization under the authority of RCW 41.14.
The Douglas County Hearing Examiner is appointed by the Board of County Commissioners to conduct public hearings and render decisions on a wide range of land use permits. The hearing examiner process ensures and expands the principles of fairness and due process in public hearings.
North Central Washington Fair Board
The Douglas County Planning Commission is a seven-member body appointed by the Board of Commissioners to assist the Land Services Division in preparing recommendations on planning matters and development regulations.
