Wenatchi Landing Interchange
County Road Project #1027, 1028, 1029
The Wenatchi Landing Interchange Project will be delivered in three coordinated County Road Projects (CRPs):
- CRP 1027: Construction of the US 2/97 interchange and 35th Street NW connecton.
- CRP 1028: Extension of 38th Street NW from the interchange to NW Cascade Avenue.
- CRP 1029: Extension of NW Empire Avenue under US 2/07 to NW Cascade avenue and associated trailhead relocation.
Project Information
Douglas County proposes construction of the Wenatchi Landing Interchange, a new grade-separated interchange on U.S. Highway 2/97 (US 2/97) east of the Columbia River in rural Central Washington. The project will provide direct, controlled access between US 2/97, State Route 28 (SR 28), and the Wenatchi Landing Subarea, a 317-acre area designated for employment, commercial, and mixed-use development under the adopted County Comprehensive Plan.
Project includes:
- Construction of a grade-separated interchange (half or full interchange configuration under evaluation)
- New on- and off-ramps to US 2/97
- Extension of local arterial roadways to establish a connected internal network
- Intersection improvements, including potetial roundabouts or signalization
- Sidewalks, shared-use paths, and bicycle wayfinding connecting to the regional trail system
- Access management improvements to enhance safety and preserve mainline capacity
Project Funding
The total estimated cost for all phases is $59.9 million.
